Lots of people hate this bit but it is essential to ensure as good a fit as possible. There will probably need to be a few tweaks but it should be very close.
I have access to hundreds of fabrics via my trade suppliers.
Many of these are not available via high street shops or online outlets.
I have simplified your search with the best quality basic fabrics and a few gorgeous fancy ones.
If you are after something in particular, let me know and I will find it for you.....if I can
the samples I send are bigger than the usual ones sent but I can also send you full metres if required. Please ask for prices if so.
STEP FOUR.
MAKE A TOILE.....OR TWO
All designers including myself will make a 'toile' It is a trial run of teh design. Made in a cheap fabric so you can make changes to fit, style before touching the real fabric.
It may seem a waste of time but believe me, it saves it in the long run....and an expensive mistake.
Its a great opportunity to also try out new techniques you may not have encountered before.
Remember The Atelier is where you can gain support if you need it.
Once you have made all your adjustments to the design and fit, you can order your choice of fabric and then get started on your dream dress.
